Simon Property Group, Inc. (NYSE:SPG), a global leader in retail real estate, unveiled plans detailing a major renovation and rejuvenation of the food area at Newport Centre, one of New Jersey’s premier shopping destinations.

The multi-million dollar project will transform the existing food offerings into a brand new contemporary Dining Pavilion which will complement Newport Centre’s wide selection of fashions, food options and entertainment venues.

“This renovation will create a whole new look that enhances the dining experience,” said Newport Centre General Manager Jeremy Strife. “We’re looking forward to getting this project underway and completed this fall.”

The renovation started should be completed in mid-October. The existing food operation will remain open throughout the duration of the project.

“Through careful planning, the work being performed will have little or no interruption to the normal flow of business,” Strife said. “During the renovation, shoppers will still be able to enjoy eating and relaxing at their favorite spots. At the same time, they will see the new dining destination come to life.”

Highlights of the food court renovation include:

 New counters, sinks, and touchless fixtures in the men’s, women’s and family restrooms.

 New and expanded variety of seating areas.

 A greater diversity of lighting fixtures and enhanced natural light.

 Reconfiguration among the existing eateries to create more open space and improved sight lines.

 New column finishes and flooring accents.
